PRiMi Lab feat. Lisa Cay Miller

PRiMi invites an acclaimed performer to conceptualise, rehearse and perform a one-night only music offering with emerging talents from the Copenhagen scene. This first edition will feature Lisa Cay Miller!

Lisa Cay Miller (she/her), pianist and composer, lives and makes music on the unceded Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Miller improvises with, and composes for, many great musicians all over the world. She is the Artistic Director of the NOW Society, organizing and directing improvised music events, workshops and community initiatives in Vancouver.

Miller has performed with great musicians from all over the world, including Satoko Fujii, Adriana Camancho, Luke Stewart, Ken Vandermark, Nicole Mitchell, Butch Morris, Ingrid Laubrock, John Dikeman, Anne La Berge, Nora Mulder, Ada Rave, Mary Oliver, Michael Moore, Wilbert de Joode, Jasper Stadhouders, Vicky Mettler, Kenton Loewen, Joshua Zubot and NOW ensembles. Her released recordings include those on the greenideas (Sleep Furiously, Q, waterwall), Trytone (682/281) and Notice (Grind Halts) record labels. Miller’s compositions have been premiered by mmm…(Tokyo), L’Ensemble SuperMusique, le GGRIL, Quatuor Bozzini (Montréal), Pianorquestra (Rio de Janeiro), Vancouver New Music, Standing Wave, Turning Point Ensemble, Rachel Iwaasa, Vancouver Intercultural Orchestra, and Hard Rubber Orchestra (Vancouver). She has been the Artistic Director of the NOW Society, since 2013, organizing and directing improvised music events, workshops, talks and community initiatives at the 8EAST Social Space for New Culture.
