»Sövngångere« is a quartet of flutists and performers that focuses on site-specific performance. Each work takes as its point of departure the intimate relationship between sound and the performance space. As every venue possesses its own acoustic and architectural characteristics, each performance is conceived as a unique event that exists only in that specific place and moment. The score is closely connected to the architectural layout of the venue, with all parts being movement-based and instructing the performers to move independently of the sound production that shapes the structure of the composition.
The ensemble uses the acoustic properties and architectural characteristics of each site to create a distinctive soundscape, enabling the spatialization of sound and performance in all directions. Through unconventional movements and the use of extended performance tools, the performers integrate sound, movement, and space into a unified artistic expression that reflects both the musical intentions of the work and its performative and aesthetic considerations.

»Sövngångere« er en kvartet af fløjtenister og performere, der arbejder med stedsspecifik performance. Udgangspunktet for hvert værk er det intime forhold mellem lyd og det rum, hvori værket opføres. Da hvert spillested har sine egne akustiske og arkitektoniske særpræg, er hver opførelse tænkt som en unik begivenhed, der kun eksisterer på netop dette sted og i dette øjeblik.
Partituret er tæt forbundet med spillestedets arkitektur og rumlige udformning. Alle dele af værket er baseret på bevægelse og indeholder instruktioner til, at performerne bevæger sig uafhængigt af den lydproduktion, der er med til at forme kompositionens struktur.
Ensemblet udnytter hvert steds akustiske og arkitektoniske egenskaber til at skabe et særegent lydlandskab, hvor både lyd og performance kan udfolde sig i alle retninger. Gennem utraditionelle bevægelser og brugen af udvidede spilleteknikker integrerer performerne lyd, bevægelse og rum i et samlet kunstnerisk udtryk. På den måde afspejler værket både dets musikalske intentioner og de performative og æstetiske overvejelser, der ligger til grund for det.

TONEFALD is a sonic performance for tone generators and musical saw. For years, the two artists Sandra Boss and Jonas Olesen have collected old tone generators. These machines were originally used as test equipment to repair electronic circuits and installations. Furthermore they were used as some of the first instruments to create electronic music. In their performance TONEFALD, Olesen og Boss explore the full sonic potential of the basic sound curves that these machines produce, and let them unfold in surprising directions, amongst other in the meeting with the vibrato-song of musical saw.
Sandra Boss and Jonas Olesen work as sound artists and composers. The practice of Sandra Boss is distinctly explorative with a strong interest in the hidden sonic potentials of both classical instruments, objects and technologies. Her work has been performed at international venues, such as Vancouver New Music Festival (CA), Archipel Festival (CH), Future Stops (CA), Super Deluxe (JP) and Cafe Oto (UK). Jonas Olesen stand behind the record company BIN, which primarily publishes historical electronic music. As an electronic musician, he has for years explored the musty sounds of extinct media and electronics, but also created some hard-boiled techno under the alias Hector Rottweiler. Jonas is also the author behind the book “Pioneers & Outsiders -Danish Electronic Music 1928-1980.”

TONEFALD er en lydperformance for tonegeneratorer og musikalsk sav. I årevis har de to kunstnere Sandra Boss og Jonas Olesen samlet på gamle tonegeneratorer. Maskinerne blev oprindeligt brugt som testudstyr til reparation af elektroniske kredsløb og installationer og var samtidig blandt de første instrumenter, der blev taget i brug til at skabe elektronisk musik. I deres performance TONEFALD udforsker Olesen og Boss det fulde lydmæssige potentiale i de grundlæggende bølgeformer, som maskinerne producerer, og lader dem udvikle sig i uventede retninger – blandt andet i mødet med den musikalske savs vibrerende sang.
Sandra Boss og Jonas Olesen arbejder som lydkunstnere og komponister. Sandra Boss’ kunstneriske praksis er præget af en undersøgende tilgang og en stærk interesse for de skjulte lydmæssige potentialer i klassiske instrumenter, objekter og teknologier. Hendes værker er blevet opført på internationale scener og festivaler, blandt andet Vancouver New Music Festival (CA), Archipel Festival (CH), Future Stops (CA), Super Deluxe (JP) og Cafe Oto (UK).
Jonas Olesen står bag pladeselskabet BIN, der primært udgiver historisk elektronisk musik. Som elektronisk musiker har han i årevis udforsket de støvede og forvrængede lyde fra uddøde medier og elektronisk udstyr, men har også skabt hårdkogt techno under pseudonymet Hector Rottweiler. Jonas er desuden forfatter til bogen Pioneers & Outsiders – Dansk elektronisk musik 1928–1980.
